Easter Scavenger Hunt

Hoppy Easter, friends! I am so excited this year because I think Lulu is finally old enough to really get into an egg hunt! We tried last year but we went to a super packed library and all the eggs were taken by the older kids. 👎 I’m still gonna look for egg hunts in our area, but I thought I’d get a little more creative this year and make up an Easter scavenger hunt of our own!

At the end of this post you can find the printables I will be using. I’ve included some written out for older kids, or that you can read to younger ones. There’s also a few blank ones if you want to add a space that’s unique to your home!

I also added a page with just images if you have an independent little preschooler like mine who insists on doing everything herself haha!

These are such a fun way for your littles to find their easter baskets in the morning. And it’s super easy! All you have to do is print out the clues and put each in a plastic egg. Maybe with a little chocolate or gummy bear too 🙂

Then plant the eggs in each of the hiding spots for them to work their way through the clues! Just make sure that the last clue they find takes them to the basket.I have the last card on both listed as the closet since that seems like the easiest place to hide a basket, but change it up however you want!

And the best part? No worrying about your preschooler being knocked over by an older kid or left empty handed because all the eggs were taken before they could find one. They still get the fun and slight challenge of finding the eggs themselves, without all the CHAOS lol!

Does your family do an egg hunt of any sort for Easter?? Let me know in the comments below if you try this Easter scavenger hunt out!

  1. Oh my goodness! I was JUST thinking about how i want to do this this year! You absolutely saved me a ton of trouble, and you save my kids from a lot of bad poems 😉

  2. We love Easter because we craft a lot of eggs. Since we have a big yard my husband and I can hide the eggs good. We paint them bring colors and other design . You all eggs look so cute, love the color.

  3. My son will finally be big enough to have enough patience to search. Last year he was just picking them up whenever he saw them (and they were in plain sight). This year should be fun, fun, fun!

    1. Oh how exciting! My daughter loved this scavenger hunt last year, and we’ll be doing it again this year!

    1. Aw that sounds so fun! We have a bunch of kiddos in our family on my fiance’s side now, a family hunt would be so fun. I might try to orchestrate that now, thanks for the idea!

  4. Sounds like a fun tradition for the family! When my kids were little we used to dye eggs and hide plastic eggs with candy/toys/money/stickers, etc. inside. As the kids got older they continued to get Easter baskets with more age appropriate gifts and money in the eggs and then hide their baskets in the house. The older they got the harder the hiding place!! (Kids are in their 20’s now!)

  5. Thank you SO MUCH for this! We did it a couple days early, as a build up to Easter. My kids absolutely loved it and it only took me a couple of minutes to print and set up. Amazing!

  6. hi i’d love to get a copy of these clues they look wonderful. i couldn’t see the subscribe button – i’d be grateful for any guidance.
