60 Easy Dessert Recipes for Kids to Make

Many of us are familiar with today as being Columbus Day, aka a day off work and school for most. But did you know there is actually another (much more exciting) holiday today as well? October 14th is National Dessert Day, and I am HERE FOR IT. Therefore, in honor of this important holiday, I’ve decided to do a round up of dessert recipes that are easy enough for your kids to help with!

Baking with kids is so great for bonding with them and teaching them some control! For younger ones, this may mean learning to pour the measuring cups IN the bowl and not stirring too crazily.

Likewise, older kids might try to break eggs, measure things out for themselves, and even handle something on the stove/in the oven! It can be a rather simple way to give them a sense of working on something and having a reward to look forward to.

If it seems like you’re just begging for a huge mess, don’t even worry — wait, no, I can’t lie. They will most likely create a mess hahaha! But, they can help clean up afterwards, and pretty much anything kids touch turns into a mess anyway, amiright??

Seriously though, it is a lot of fun to bake together, and seeing how proud they are afterwards really does make it worth it!

Speaking of buns… we have our own bun in the oven! Baby number 3 is coming this February, and we can’t wait.

When I asked Lu if she’d want a baby sister or another brother, she said a brother so that she can stay the only princess- HA! We’re all so looking forward to meeting our newest little dude.

You can be sure we will be enjoying a bunch of these easy dessert recipes for kids over here! To see another one of our baking creations, check out this post.

The only thing my kids love more than helping me bake is getting to eat their creations afterwards. Besides, with the cold weather approaching, now is a great time to start teaching and bonding with your little ones in the kitchen!
